Blount released, now a Buccanneer

After rookie LeGarrette Blount was released by the Titans on September 5, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers added the running back to their 53-man roster.

This is good news to some Titans fans.

Most observers will say the Titans made a mistake by assuming Blount would clear waivers after being released. I say the Titans corrected a mistake after signing Blount as an undrafted free agent after the 2010 NFL Draft.

During the draft, it seemed the Titans were making a conscious effort to draft smart players with character. The cumulative outcome of Tennessee's draft may have been a coincidence, but the Titans made it appear as if they had no intention of adding another Adam "Pacman" Jones-type character to the team.

I thought signing Blount was a step in the wrong direction.

Blount punched defensive end Eric Bakhtiari during training camp, which despite the opinion of many, was a big deal. Now, the Buccanneers will risk their locker room and on-field prospects with Blount.
